Walk to Defeat ALS

On October 30th, there will be a walk to raise money for the ALS Association here in Dallas. I will be there and would like to invite anyone who would like to walk with me or donate to check out my Team web page.

There are two organizations that have provided so much help for me over these last few years and I want to help them both with their fundraising this year. The first is the ALS Association and their local "Walk to Defeat ALS" will take place in October. The other is the Muscular Dystrophy Association and they will have a similar event, a "Muscle Walk" next March here in Dallas. I can't say enough about how much I owe each of these organizations and I want to encourage you to join me in helping them continue their work.

Love,

Dewie

  1. Hi Dewie and Pete and Sarah!
I am going to check and see what is going on with ALS fundraisers here in my Atlanta area this fall too. I started my PhD three weeks ago, it is very exciting but a ton of work! So much reading! I am sending lots of love to you all and hope that the weather in Dallas is as nice as Atlanta, though less humid.
    Big hugs and kisses,
    Hilary

  2. H i precious Dewie & Pete; I just read all of your Blog enties; & I feel so awful that I have not kept up with you; & brought you up to date about my new life. I think you knew that Don & I were married on July 24th. I had sold my condo in April & had moved in with Don in his house in San Leandro, which he sold in June. We then moved into our house (way up in the Oakland hills & all one level & with a gorgeous view of the SF Bay!0)just 15 days before our wedding! We were married in my beloved Piedmont Community Church, with organ & a fabulous Soprano; & Jack Chilton gave me away, just as he had 58 years ago! He and Peggy, now 95 & 91, have slowed down a bit; but still are enjoying life! And Randy & Katie flew up with Peggy & Jack to be with us. Elena, a sweet & beautiful 9 yr. old, was one of my Flower Girls & Alana, Don's granddaughter, was Maid of Honor. We were, & are, so happy; & everyone, family & friends, were, & are, very happy for us! We're in our wonderful home & still are unpacking boxes; but are enjoying every day together. I love you both so very much; & am so very proud to see well you are handling your lives! Polly

  3. Pete and Dewie, I am grateful for both of these organizations -- and for all who are working to help those who have ALS and for a cure. Jim and I will be in Hawaii celebrating our tenth anniversary, so I won't be able to be at the walk, but I will certainly send a donation. Sending care, Cathy
