Thank You Merilly and James Taylor!

I was blown away last week when in the mail I got a piece of sheet music for James Taylor's song "Carolina in My Mind" signed to me by James himself! My good friend Merilly read on the blog that James Taylor is my favorite musician and she lives not far from him on Martha's Vinyard. So she just took it on her wonderful self to see if James would like to send me something and lo and behold, he did!

Thank you both for such a kind thought and gesture. And thank you to all of my friends and family for all the love and support you give me. Your love and friendship are what make life such a beautiful experience. I love you. Dewie

  2. Earlier post said your world was smaller. But it is also bigger with this blog. Your friend Jan Grebneff directed me (an others) to your upbeat and positive blog. You have new connections in places like Newfoundland where I live and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

  3. Oooh! A James Taylor signed piece of music! I am terribly jealous! I LOVE that you received this. He is one of my -- and my mom's -- favorites. I even played one of his songs at Mom's memorial service. She would be smiling to hear you had received this gift!

And blonde! Aren't you the daring one! Love seeing the new do!

  4. Wow! Do you ever look fabulous, Dewie! Though of course you'll look fabulous even if you dye your hair purple. I am so glad that Merrily worked her magic on James so that he could work his on you. I remember what a wonderful time we had at her house three summers ago, eating all those lobsters and watching grandchildren speed around in the little jeep like Nascar crazies. Every time we go to Merrily and Frank's restaurant in Menemsha, we give thanks to you for introducing us to them. Though we haven't eaten upstairs on the private porch since we were there with you, we enjoy watching harbor life unfold from below. I send good Hoffman vibes from my spirit to yours!!!
