Ask Me a Question

One thing I really miss is talking with people like I used to. My alphabet board is slow and the pace of normal conversation is fast. But with written communication, the pace is slow and I can participate. So I have an idea to allow more interaction between me and my loved ones (that's you). Its a game called "Ask Dewie", where you ask me something and I can answer on this blog. So if you have a question for me, just reply here or email and I will answer. To reply here just click on "Comments" below and scroll down to the white box. You wanna give it a try? Ask away!

Love,

Dewie

  1. oh goodie! i get to be the first commenter. ask a question? ok, here's one: do you remember the women's retreats we had in Bixby Canyon? I can still picture the large stones of the house and the car hood that was part of the fireplace. and every time i see a photo or a painting of the Bixby Bridge, i think of you. other question: what is your favorite music these days?

i think this is a great idea, because not only do each of us get to ask, but all of us get to see your answers.

happy Tuesday, you quortrup clan and helpers.

    much love,
Deborah (who is now retired and needs to plan a visit when it would be convenient for you all)

  2. Dewie - I have seen a couple of obituaries recently that mentioned the person had ALS, and couldn't help but wonder if they might have been friends that you and Pete had met thru the support groups? If so, I'm sure you have been saddened by their deaths, and I thought of you as you dealt with that loss. Nancy Haines

  3. What a wonderful idea!!
Ok, Dewey here are my questions:

    1. Since you used to sing, who is your favorite singer?
    2. You and Pete enjoy going to the movies, so who is your favorite actor/actress?
    3. Now here is a question that you can't tell Pete I asked...Last year Drew Pearson came to our Dallas Walk and was a BIG hit! He was very gracious with his time taking pictures and signing autographs. If we were able to secure another "hunk" to come to our Walk, who would you choose?

I look forward to hearing back from you!!

  6. Hi Dewie - What a great idea! The other Deborah's comment reminded me of the Bixby Canyon house. What a great place! I was wondering, are you on Facebook? I know it can be a big time waster but it's also a great way to share photos and other news.

  7. Hey Dewie, it's Cissy. Now that your Godchild Duval is to become a graduate, do you have any words of wisdom I can pass along?

  8. Hi Dewie,

I love our visits and am looking forward to our next one.

My question is: Do you still know that God passionately loves you even though you suffer with ALS?

  9. Hey Dewie,
I know you don't know me, and I have only been following your blog for short while. My mom passed away from ALS in 2004 and went to be with Jesus in Heaven. This was very comforting to us because we knew she asked Him to be her personal Lord and Savior! The most important question I would ask you is: Do you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? If not, He would love for you to ask Him today:) John 3:16 Blessings, Judy

Hello from your cousin Clay. I also think that you have a great voice and enjoy listening to you singing. Someone else asked who you favorite singer is. Could I expand that to ask for your favorite musical group or groups? I remain firmly hooked on the music of the mid to late 60s!
